Terms of Service

Welcome to BeatCypher, a social platform for sharing human beatbox audio ("cyphers"). These Terms are an agreement between you and Dean S. Software Solutions ("BeatCypher", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using BeatCypher you agree to them. If you do not agree, please don't use the service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use BeatCypher. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use BeatCypher with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

Your account

You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password secure. Provide accurate information, don't impersonate others, and don't share your account in ways that break these Terms. You can change your password or delete your account at any time in Settings.

Your content and licence

You keep ownership of everything you post. By posting, you grant BeatCypher a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, and display your content for the purpose of operating and promoting the service — for example showing your cyphers in feeds, on profiles, in battles and challenges, and on public BeatCypher pages and share links. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies already shared by others or retained briefly in backups.

You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the rights to post it, including any music or samples it contains.

Acceptable use

You agree to follow our Community Guidelines. In short: no hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, violent, or illegal content; no impersonation; and no spam. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users.

Moderation and enforcement

Every cypher and profile can be reported, and any user can be blocked. We review reports and may remove content or restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts that break these Terms or our Community Guidelines — including, for serious or repeated violations, without prior notice.

Intellectual property

BeatCypher's name, logo, design, and software are owned by us and protected by law. These Terms don't grant you any right to use our branding without permission.

Third-party services

BeatCypher relies on third-party providers (such as Supabase for hosting and Expo for push notifications) and offers an optional Discord integration. Your use of those connected services may also be governed by their own terms.

Disclaimers

BeatCypher is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content posted by other users is accurate or appropriate.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BeatCypher and Dean S. Software Solutions are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or content, arising from your use of the service.

Termination

You can stop using BeatCypher and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as content licences already granted to others, disclaimers, and liability limits) will survive.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the product evolves. When we make material changes we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use BeatCypher after changes take effect means you accept them.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and the competent courts there have jurisdiction, unless mandatory local consumer-protection law provides otherwise.
